“On Christ the Solid Rock I Stand All Other Ground is Sinking Sand”

The hymn writer made such a powerful declaration with these words. We know this to be true but often base our security on sinking sand. Financial security, job security, insurance, the economy, modern medicine, good works to name a few. These are not bad things but they do not provide real security. To try and stand on them may make us feel safer but ultimately will sink. To trust in these things is merely to delude ourselves into thinking we are safe and secure.

There is only one place that cannot sink. Christ the solid rock. To stand on that rock is to be perfectly, eternally safe. He is the rock that cannot be moved. He is a bulwark of security. If we are found in Him we are safe. Not just safe but eternally safe.
