God’s Ever Increasing Light Part 2
Psalms 43:3-4 O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles. 4 Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God.
We will glorify the Lord when our lives are laid on his altar in surrender to become a living sacrifice. The Apostle Paul writes in Romans 12:1-2 that becoming a living sacrifice is the design of God for our lives! This offering of our lives to the Lord comes as his light penetrates our hearts and establishes his kingdom within our lives. His light transforms our hearts and renews our minds. The light of God changes the source of our thinking from the natural human mind to the mind of Christ.
God’s light enables us to refuse to yield and submit to the world around us which consists of the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. We are given his victorious power to overcome the world around us by living yielded, surrendered and obedient to the Lord Jesus Christ. When we have the source of our thinking changed to the mind of Christ we then prove God’s will to be the highest duty and the greatest pleasure given to mankind. In short, we will prove the perfection of God’s will by our lives, as well as, with his word.
Christians are cleansed and justified by the blood of Jesus Christ. This justification opens the doors of heaven to shine on us and within us to such a degree that our path literally becomes light. This light within and without is designed to increase more and more until we stand before Christ in eternity filled with and clothed in his glory! We are told in Romans 8:29-30 that God Foreknew us – he knew us before we were born naturally, he designed our lives and had an effective plan for us. God Predestined us. The predestined plan of God was for you and me to be conformed to the very image of Christ. In John 8:12 Jesus revealed that he was the light of the world; since we are destined to be conformed to his image, we too are to be the light of the world. We are predestined to reveal Jesus as he is, not as men have thought him to be!
This predestined plan was carried out when he intervened in our lives and God Called us. He called us to let our light so shine before men that they would see the Father’s good works through our lives. When they see his good works they will glorify God as well. God Justified us; whatever sin had claimed and accomplished in our lives was removed. We were redeemed, purchased back from sin to God by the blood of Jesus Christ. When God justified us he effectively made us just as if we had never sinned! Our sins past, present and future were placed under the redeeming blood of the Lamb of God and the declaration of heaven over our lives and our sins was – “ Paid In Full!” His justification also empowers us to stand in his authority to speak as his ambassadors and to act on his behalf in righteousness. We have the authority and the responsibility to advance the Kingdom of God!
Finally, God Glorified us! Notice that this is written in the past tense. God’s glory resides within our spirit and is being released little by little in our souls to be seen through the actions of our lives! Paul revealed this principle in II Corinthians 4:6–18. The glory of the Lord is released in our lives as his light shines through the face of Jesus Christ to us regardless of our circumstances, His light shines and he is glorified. When we are born again God speaks the words, ” Let there be light!” He has designed every believer to walk in his light as he leads us and he has enabled us to be beings of light to reveal Christ Jesus in every moment of our lives wherever we go and whatever our circumstances are! His light is designed to ever increase the knowledge of his glory in the earth, as well as, our joy and fellowship in him!
“Let there be light!”
