Indescribable

“In the beginning was God”. He always will be and always has been. What a privilege it is to know Him. Like all who have met Him I was in deep darkness. Hiding, running, empty, imprisoned in fear and despair. Sin permeated my being and was master over me.

I had no intention of looking for Him but He found me. Self-centered, self-absorbed, self-ruled was the character of my life. Impossible to understand what He saw in me or any who have come to know Him. I am thankful that He did not turn away when He saw the darkness that covered me. His love is beyond comprehension.

The moment I first saw Him I was changed. The word beautiful does not fully describe Him. There are no words that can capture the essence of who He is. There is nothing to which He can be compared. His presence healed me. Healed me from the darkness that plagued my soul. Melted my fear and pushed away my despair. He made me whole and brought me home.

I now know what I never knew. That my emptiness was merely the absence of Him. That my worth is equal to the price He paid to ransom me. That there is beauty that can heal.

God you are….

    Shane,
This is so true for all of us. We deserve nothing but His turning a way from us.
But, He placed His love on us, and once He shows Himself to you there is nothing and no one that can even come close to Him…words seem clumsy and empty…yet He loves us and works in us to change us into…how can it be?…His own image.
    What a magnificent wonder!
