A Kingdom Sighting In Spain
Most observers would agree that the spiritual condition of Europe is pretty bleak. Secularism, materialism, agnosticism, and atheism dominate the culture. But wherever there are a people sitting in great darkness, get ready because Jesus will soon invade the scene and those people will see a great light.
For years it seemed that Spain was one of the darkest countries in Europe. I’m glad to report, however, that the light is beginning to shine in that nation. On August 20-22 heaven touched down in Spain as over 700 people gathered in the city of Huesca to seek the face of the Lord. And those who sought him found him!
In the opening service of the conference, officials of the city and regional governments came to thank Christians for their labors in ministering to drug addicts, broken families, and young people in Spain. The Roman Catholic Bishop also came to proclaim blessings over the evangelicals. Americans might not think this is too important, but in Spain it is huge. These were the very entities that severly persecuted evangelicals in the past. The move of the Spirit of God, however, is producing transformation in Spain!
How did this all start? It started many years ago when some Southern Baptist missionaries carried the gospel to Spain. For years they had little fruit but they were faithful. Then as a few Spaniards became followers of Jesus they took over the leadership and remained faithful. They extended the kingdom of God by proclaiming the gospel but also through practical expressions of love. They fed the hungry, visited the sick, and provided shelter for the homeless and drug addicts. As more people slowly 
came to Christ, their hunger for more of Christ grew. Three years ago a Baptist pastor invited Juan Carlos Manzewitsch and me to lead an In His Presence conference in Pamplona, Spain. The Holy Spirit invaded that place and the Baptists found themselves now consumed with the presence of the King and extending his kingdom through proclamation, practical expressions of love, and power.
It was an awesome privilege to be in Spain again for what is probably one of the largest evangelical conferences in the nation. It is certainly the largest Baptist conference in Spain. But it was even more awesome to see over 700 Baptists pouring out their hearts in unrestrained love and adoration to the Lord and to see how they take his presence with them to the streets. His kingdom is coming into Spain and transformation is taking place!
Yes how awesome it is! We are in the throws of a revival- not a jesus revival like the welsh revival, or a holy spirit/pentecost revival like isuzu street, but a father’s revival- a holy fire revival. The fire has been burning off the chaff and causing our hearts to burn with the love of the Lord. We have entered into the 4th chamber of his heart. From the servant (blood) covenant to the friendship (salt) covenant to the inheritance (sandal) covenant becoming sons and daughters, to the bridal covenant- we are the beloved of the Lord- the lover and loved of God Most High!! The mysterious plan is being revealed in and through us. As the bride rises up with cleaned robes and eyes that see from her position in the heavenlies, we are bring forth the kingdom of the Lord. We have said yes and stepped into our destiny and put on our shoes of authority. As we face our God and do as jesus taught us, loving others and forgiving as the royal priesthood and carriers of the blood of the lamb, we can now release our brothers and sisters. We hurl down the accuser with the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony not loving our lives as to shrink from death. We have turned from having faith IN God to having the faith OF God. Thy kingdom come-
Many prayers have been going up for years for God to draw hearts of Europeans back to Him- exciting to see answers to those prayers. God is faithful!!
