Greatest Catalyst in History

There has been no greater agent of change than Jesus death on the cross. God coming to this earth as a man, walking among us, living a perfect sinless life and dying for the sins of the world stands alone in eternity.  This act will never be matched.  It’s scope, it’s reach, it’s power is beyond what can be understood or grasped by our frail human understanding.  It is beyond any sacrifice any mortal man could ever make.  It was a price only the perfect, pure, spotless God could make.  In it was a victory so complete it could only be compared to the magnitude of the utter defeat it wrought upon darkness.  This catalyst broke the power of sin and has opened up the door of eternal life in the Presence of God for all who will repent and receive forgiveness.

Recently I had a dream.  In the dream I saw two paths set before me.  The paths looked exactly the same.  I knew I had to choose which path I was going to walk down but there was no outward indication of which path I should take.  For a reason unknown to me I had no time to sit and think about it I just had to choose.  So I just walked down one of the paths believing I was being led by the Spirit of God.

I walked for some time until I began to see some tall buildings in sight. As I approached the buildings I began to be surrounded by what I could best describe as gang members.  They began to taunt me for coming down the path.  The threatened that they were going to rob me and kill me.  For a moment I began to think I made a mistake by coming down this path and must have not been led by God’s Spirit.

I had no idea what to do but as I opened my mouth to speak I began to proclaim the gospel with a fire I had never known.  The words were flowing out like a river from heaven.  It was truly not me but God proclaiming the timeless truth of salvation through me.  As I was preaching thousands of people began to flow and onto the balconies of the buildings.  All around me people started to  fall on their knees and repent, others were being healed and delivered as the invisible hand of God’s Spirit flowed over the sea of people.  This was obviously the right path.  This dream was so vivid it woke me up.  When I woke up God spoke to me one word “Catalyst”.

Jesus dying on the cross was a catalyst.   He has called us as His people to be a catalyst of change in the earth.  The path is not easy but we must release the power of the gospel to a humanity covered in darkness.  It will be a catalyst for change in our neighborhoods, communities, cities and the nations of the earth.
